SMALL POX.
(decennial average 50.0).
One case of the disease was notified during the year, but no death
occurred in Bethnal Green. Four deaths were ascribed to Small
Pox in the whole of London.
SCARLET FEVER.
(Decennial average 92.6).
The number of cases of Scarlet Fever notified during the year
was 461. The disease caused 34 deaths, a mortality of 7.37 on the
reported cases.
FEVERS.
(Decennial average 33.4).
The number of cases of Enteric and Continued Fever reported
was 136. Enteric Fever was fatal in twenty-nine cases, a mortality
of 21.3 per cent, on the reported cases of "Fever." No case of
Typhus was reported.
DIPHTHERIA (including MEMBRANOUS CROUP).
(Decennial average 27.9).
In 422 of the certificates received under the notification of
Infectious Diseases Acts, Diphtheria or Membranous Croup was
returned as the disease from which the patient was suffering ; the
