The number of expulsion orders made under the Act was 294.
The total number of alien steerage passengers arriving in the United
Kingdom liable to examination under the Aliens Act was 64,311, of whom
14,939 arrived in the Port of London.
Non-Immigrant and Immigrant Ships.
During the year, 1,975 non-immigrant ships arrived in the Port of
London, bringing 29,290 passengers; and 550 immigrant ships, bringing
43,534 passengers.
Transmigrants were all examined with a view to the detection of any case
of an infectious disorder amongst them, whilst the immigrants were subjected
to a more careful and thorough examination.
