One hundred and seventy eight new cases were added to the register of tuberculous persons, compared with 131 in 1949.

Of these 178, 131 were primary notifications, 42 were transferred
from other districts, and 5 came to notice in other ways.
During the year 153 persons were removed from the register
for the following reasons:—
Recovered 12
Removed from the district 89
Death 52
After allowing for the additions and deductions, the number
remaining on the register at the 31st December, 1950, was distributed
as shown in the following table:—
