TUBERCULOSIS.

One hundred and thirty one new cases were added to the register of tuberculous persons, compared with 119 in 1948.

Of these 131, 92 were primary notifications, 32 were transferred
from other districts, and 7 came to notice in other ways.
During the year 95 persons were removed from the register
for the following reasons :—
Recovered 4
Removed from the district 48
Death 43
After allowing for the additions and deductions, the number
remaining on the register at the 31st December, 1949, was distributed
as shown in the following table: —
