The Home was closed from January 30 to April 8 as a temporary
measure, as it was found that the mothers were not willing
to go away while the weather was cold and wet.
From September 9 to October 7 the Home was in quarantine
for German measles.
In conclusion, I should like to thank Mr. T. V. O'Sullivan
for the interest he has taken in the cases referred to him from
the ante-natal and post-natal clinics, and Mrs. E. S. Wray,
Superintendent Health Visitor, and Miss G. M. Evans, Matron
of Woodlands Maternity Home, for all the help they have given
me during the year. I tender thanks also to the health visitors
and nursing staff of Woodlands and to the voluntary workers at
the infant welfare centres for their assistance.
