Deaths.
During the year 485 deaths were registered, of which 238 were
males and 247 were females, as compared with 553 deaths last year.
The death rate for the year was equal to 7.7 per 1,000 of the
population, as compared with 9.1 per 1,000 in 1934.
The death rate for England and Wales was 11.8 per 1,000 for
the year 1935 and 11.8 per 1,000 for 1934.
Senile Deaths.
The number of deaths of persons of 65 years of age and over
was 207, of which 92 were males and 115 females. This constitutes
42.6 per cent. of the total deaths, as compared with 37 per cent.
last year.
