Maternal Mortality.
During the year two deaths were registered as being due to
diseases or accidents of pregnancy, compared with five deaths last
year. The following is a summary of the causes of death:—
1 was due to post partum haemorrhage.
1 was due to puerperal sepsis.
All maternal deaths occurring within the district are enquired
into personally by the Medical Officer of Health, and a confidential
report is forwarded to the Chief Medical Officer of the Ministry of
Health.
