Sewage Works.
The enlargement of the Worcester Park Sewage
Works is under consideration, and plans are in course
of preparation for large scale additions and alterations.
Refuse Collection and Scavenging.— The collection
of house refuse and its subsequent disposal is carried
out under the supervision of the Borough Engineer and
Surveyor.
The whole of the manual labour in the collection and
disposal of refuse is provided by the Council, and at
the present time low loading mechanical vehicles are
hired under contract. The original term of this contract
having now expired, the Council have purchased
six modern rear loading 15 cubic yard refuse collection
vehicles, and one 7 cubic yard side loading vehicle,
which will be put into commission in April, 1939.
The house refuse is disposed of at the Refuse Disposal
Plant at Boscombe Road, Worcester Park,
which consists of an eight-cell top feed mechanically
clinkered trough grate incinerator.
