3. Pork Sausages. Three samples of pork sausages were reported
upon by the Public Analysts as containing deficiencies in meat, the details
are given below.
1. Meat content 58%, deficiency 10% of minimum quantity.
2. Meat content 45%, deficiency 30% of minimum quantity.
3. Meat content 57%, deficiency 12% of minimum quantity.
These samples were informal and were purchased late in the year.
Because of the difficulty of obtaining further specimens, repeat and forma
samples could not be obtained until 1953.
4. Ice Creflm. Complaint was received of a sample of coffee flavoured
ice cream which the purchaser alleged tasted of disinfectant. The result
of the analysis did not confirm this allegation, the Public Analyst reporting
it to be genuine ice cream.
