Diphtheria:—The total number of cases notified during
the year was 26 from 26 houses. The attack-rate was .4
per thousand of the population.
There were no deaths.
21 or 80 per cent. of the patients were treated in the
Isolation Hospital.
61 per cent. of the cases notified were children of school
age, five to fifteen years, and of these, 13 attended the
following schools:—
Russell Road Infants' 1
Queen's Road Girls' and Infants' Schools 1
Haydons Road Girls' and Infants' Schools 1
Pelham Road Infants' School 8
Private Schools 1
Schools outside the district 1
Total 13
