One very satisfactory Feature is that 1,961 first visits were paid
and, when compared with the 1,959 birth registrations given by the
Registrar-General, show that practically every new-born infant
must have been visited. A less satisfactory feature is that only
2,096 re-visits were paid to children under one year of age, whereas
if quarterly visits had been possible this should have been higher,
although an accurate estimate cannot be given because no separate
figures are available of visits paid to children under one year of
age by the Brookscroft Health Visitor. The need for additional
Health Visitors is thus apparent.
