The treatment of Tuberculosis is now under the control of the Regional
Hospital Board. On the 31st December, 1951, there were 1,116 patients on
the register of the Ilford Clinic.
The number of patients from Ilford sent to Institutions under the Regional Hospital Board Tuberculosis Scheme during 1951 was as follows:—

Tuberculosis Care Association.—This Association has assisted 53 cases
with extra nourishment, clothing, and in other ways.
(i) Venereal Diseases.—Treatment of these diseases is now the responsibility
of the Regional Hospital Board.

Publicity and Propaganda, Etc.
Copies of the magazine "Better Health" are distributed monthly to
the reading rooms of Public Libraries, the Infant Welfare Centres, and at
the Public Health Offices.
Public lectures to Ratepayers' Associations, Evening Institutes and
Church organisations, etc., on health topics were given during the year.
The Chairman of the Public Health Committee also made reference at a
number of Council meetings to health subjects. Poster displays regarding
Diphtheria immunisation and health topics were also given prominence.
