The mean average Infant Mortality rate for the past 10 years is
therefore 31.8 per 1,000 live births.

Illegitimate Births and Deaths.—91 of the live births registered
(43 males and 48 females) were illegitimate, that is 3'2 per cent, of the
births registered.
Four illegitimate children died under one year of age from the following
causes:—
Anencephalic, Prematurity (30 weeks gestation), aged 10 minutes.
Broncho-Pneumonia, Prematurity, aged 2 weeks.
Prematurity (26 weeks gestation), aged 8 hours.
Prematurity, aged 1 week.
The infant mortality rate of illegitimate children was 43.9 per 1,000,
compared with the infant mortality rate of 21 for legitimate children.
