The causes of the deaths were as follows:—
Puerperal septicaemia 1
Acute pneumonia and puerperal sapraemia 1
Acute pulmonary oedema 1
Ruptured ectopic gestation 1
Post partum haemorrhage, morbidly adherent placenta
and anaemia 1
Pulmonary thrombosis whilst undergoing forceps delivery
under chloroform anaesthesia for difficult labour 1
Internal haemorrhage and rupture of tubal pregnancy 1

Foster-Children.
The arrangement come to with the Romford Board of Guardians
in accordance with the recommendations made by the Ministry of
Health in a circular dated September 30th, 1919, by which the
work of the Infant Life Protection Visitor employed by the Board
of Guardians is linked up with the work of the Public Health
Department, has continued in operation.
Two foster-children in the care of one foster-mother, were
found on attendance at a welfare centre to be suffering from gastroenteritis.
They were later admitted to Romford Infirmary, where
they died
