Small-Pox.
No case was notified during the year. The Vaccination
Officer informs me that 744 primary vaccinations were performed
during the year. Less than 50% therefore of the
children born were vaccinated. I have again to call attention
to this unsatisfactory state of affairs, feeling that it can only
be a matter of time before the inevitable Small-Pox epidemic
occurs. It is to be hoped that this calamity may be postponed
until our other national misfortunes have arrived at a
happy solution.
Scarlet Fever.
224 cases of this disease were notified during the year.
The type of the disease continued to be a mild one.
Diphtheria.
128 cases of this disease were notified.
The other cases of notifiable disease are summarised in the appended Table II., and call for no comment.
