TO THE BOARD OF WORKS FOR THE
ST. GILES DISTRICT.
Gentlemen,
I have the honour to present to you a Report upon the
samples submitted to me for analysis under the Sale of
Food and Drugs Act during the year ending 31st March,
1896.
The total number of samples of food examined during
the period was 318. In the two previous years, 1893-94
and 1894-95, the numbers were 266 and 348 respectively.
Of the 318 samples, 159 were purchased by Inspector
William Henry Bond, and a like number by Inspector
John Robinson.

In the following table will be found a statement of the articles analysed during each quarter of the year:—
