The Marriage-rate in St. Giles District.
I am again enabled, through the courtesy of the Rectors of St.
Giles-in-the-Fields and St. George, Bloomsbury, and the Registrar of
Marriages, to supply the number of marriages which took place in the
District dnrins' the Dast vear.

There were, therefore, 780 persons married, which gives a marriagerate
of 14 59 per 1,000, nearly the same as for the preceding year.
The Birth-rate in St. Giles District.
The Registered births in St. Giles District were as follows :

This is not an accurate representation of the birth-rate, neither of
the whole District nor of the Sub-Districts, in consequence of a large
number of children, belonging to non-parishioners, being born at the
Workhouse, and at the British Lying-in-Hospital, Endell Street, as
appears in the next Table
