Factories and Workshops.
One hundred and fifty-six inspections were made of
Factories and Workshops and 39 defects were found. Five
notices were served and resulted in 30 defects being
remedied. In one factory 10 additional water closets were
provided to comply with the notice served. The restricted application
of the law relating to food premises where such premises
are a factory or workshop is a serious impediment to improving
conditions in certain cases. Details of the work done in this connection
are set forth in table 36.
