LABORATORY FACILITIES.
Bacteriological investigations are carried out on behalf of the
Public Health Department by the Regional Hospital Board's Group Laboratory
at Mile End Hospital.
Investigations on 390 specimens were carried out during the year,
133 being submitted by the Public Health Department in connection with
epidemiological investigations, and 257 by medical practitioners in the
Borough. The specimens comprised 287 faeces, 77 throat swabs, 25 rectal
swabs and 1 nasal swab.
