ERYSIPELAS.
The number of cases notified was 201, as compared with 195 in 1894, and 315 in
1893. The deaths numbered 5, as compared with 5 and 15 in 1894 and 1893
respectively. The case mortality was slightly less than last year, being 2 48 as
against 2.5 in 1894, and 4 7 in 1893.
The following table shews the distribution of cases and deaths among the sexes
in the four subdivisions of the parish:—

The death rate from erysipelas was 0.04 per 1000.
PUERPERAL FEVER.
There were two cases notified, one of which terminated fatally. Last year there
were five cases with two deaths, and in 1893, there were eight cases with six deaths.
MEASLES.
To this cause 103 deaths were attributed, 100 of which were of children under
the ago of five years. Bronchitis and pneumonia were associated with the disease in
a large number of instances. The death-rate was 0.84 per 1000 of the population.
In 1893 and 1894 there were 128 and 65 deaths with death-rates per 1000 of 1.04
and 0.52 respectively.
WHOOPING COUGH.
There were 83 deaths from this disease as compared with 86 last year. Of these
79 were of children below the age of five years. The death-rate per 1000 was 0.67,
as compared with 0.70 in 1894 and 0.54 in 1893.
