Illegitimate Births.
The illegitimate birth rate, per 1.000 live and still births, for
the year 1953, is 24.6. There were 22 illegitimate births (10 males
and 12 females).
Stillbirths.
The total number of still births occurring in the Borough during
the year was 16. This represents a still birth rate, per 1,000 live
and still births, of 17.9 and a rate of 0.25 per 1.000 total population.

marked reduction of infantile mortality that has taken place since
