Set out below is a list of the expenses incurred in running the Clean Food Month held in October last. As the Committee will note, the total expenses were well under the £100 originally allocated for this effort:—

As the Committee will be aware the main purpose of the Clean
Food Month was to interest food handlers, members of the general
public and school children in the matter of clean food. The Committee
will also be aware that the programme included the giving
of talks and film shows, mainly in the Public Health Department
where a special clean food exhibit was set up; the display of posters;
the issue of book markers through the libraries; articles in the local
press; the showing of cinema slides; the insertion of advertisements
in the local press; the preparation of a clean food exhibit at the
Civic Exhibition, together with the issue of notices to shop keepers
advising the public to abstain from bringing; doers into food shops.
