INSPECTION AND SUPERVISION OF FOOD.(a)Milk Supply.

The following licences for the sale of milk under special designations have been granted.

24 samples of milk were submitted for examination during the year
and all of these conformed to the standards under the Milk (Special
Designations) Regulations, 1949.
(6) Ice Cream.
There are 11 premises registered for the manufacture of Ice Cream
in the district, and 80 premises registered for retailing Ice Cream.
During the year, 181 visits were paid to these premises, and 73
samples were submitted for bacteriological examination. Of these
samples:—
63 were Grade I. 7 were Grade II.
1 was Grade III. 2 were Grade IV.

(c) Meat and Other Foods.

The undermentioned foodstuffs were certified as unfit for human consumption during the year:—
