In 31 of the above cases, the Council's Motor Ambulance was
called to give assistance in removing injured persons. Three of the
cases are known to have been fatal.
The danger that pedestrians run is becoming a serious factor
in life, and certainly behoves more care on the part of the Authorities
concerned in the promulgating of arrangements for the safety of the
public. More supervision should be kept with regard to the speed
limit of motor vehicles, especially when passing stationary
tramcars.
Roadside classes to teach children to cross the road safely have
been proposed (in Bradford), and all engaged in instructing the
young have opportunities in school hours of giving advice on this
subject.
