Neo-Natal Mortality refers to the toll of children who die
within the first month of their existence. Comparatively these
numbers are less under our control than those occurring in the other
eleven months of the first year. The work of the Maternity and
Child Welfare Service has done much to improve the figures of this
latter group. In 1925 out of the 35 deaths of Infants in Wood
Green under one year of age, 22 died before they reached the end
of their first month.
