at Harlesden; and one at Kensal. Of these five are
licensed by the Council annually, and four are registered
only, having heen in existence previous to
the establishment of the Local Authority.
They were periodically inspected and lime.
washed, and no contraventions of the Regulations
were discovered.
COMMON LODGING HOUSES.
No new premises were registered under the
Common Lodging Clauses of the Public Health Act.
The existing places, which are not of the type usually
understood by the term, were visited and inspected,
and the Regulations to limewash periodically duly
carried out. No case of infectious disease was
notified.
INSPECTION OF CANAL BOATS.
There were 42 special visits made to the canal
during the year for the purpose of inspecting the
boats used as dwellings, under the provision of the
Canal Boats Act. This number is less than usual,
owing to the canal being frozen for a long period in
the early part of the year, and the consequent
absence of boats.
Eighty.nine boats were inspected, which were
occupied by 91 men, 66 women and 85 children.
The following infringements of the Regulations
were observed, viz.:—
