In addition, 4 virulence tests (1 positive, 3 negative) in connection
with protracted casesi of diphtheria, and 7 examinations
of fseces (1 positive, 6 negative) were carried out by the Association.

BACTERIOLOGICAL EXAMINATION OF MILK.
This work was continued during 1935 and is, in my opinion,
serving an exceedingly useful purpose. Each milk supply produced
in or entering the district was examined quarterly for total
bacterial count and bacillus coli content, and twice annually for
the presence of tubercle bacilli. Check samples were also taken,
following the report of unsatisfactory examinations. All results were
transmitted to the Milk Marketing Board. The number of unsatisfactory
results obtained has definitely diminished, and there is
evidence to show that the retailers are taking cognizance of the
