Several of the above cases were admitted for observation purposes,
while, in 22 other cases the original diagnosis was amended
after admission, the patients being transferred to a General Hospital
or sent home when the non-infectious nature of their illness became
apparent. In one case (abscess of hand) the patient was too ill to
be moved and died in Hospital.
