During the period from the 1st April to the 31st December,
1925, the following number of animals were killed for human
food in the slaughterhouses in the District:—
Oxen 1, Calves 1, Sheep and Lambs 12, Swine 22.
During the year only a small quantity of meat was found
to be unfit for human consumption, this being voluntarily
surrendered.
BAKEHOUSES.
There are five Bakehouses in this District (being one less
than last year), to which 11 visits have been paid. In two
instances defects were found, both of which were remedied.
PIGGERIES.
There are two Piggeries, to which three visits of inspection
have been paid.
SALE OF FOOD AND DRUGS ACTS.
This work is carried out by the Kent County Council.
FACTORY AND WORKSHOP ACT.
It will be seen from the subjoined list that there are
11 Factories and 24 Workshops within the District.
All these have been periodically visited, and due attention
has been paid to maintaining them in such a condition as to
comply with the requirements of the Act.
During the year 64 visits of inspection have been paid,
and in only one instance nuisances or irregularities have been founded.

All the detects were remedied.
