DISINFECTION.
Several requests have been received from residents in.
the district for rooms, clothing, etc., to be disinfected
after cases of Phthisis and Cancer. In many districts the
Local Authority undertakes to do this without charge,
and, upon the matter being brought before the Sanitary
Committee, a resolution was passed giving me authority
to disinfect gratuitously after such cases.
We still have to remove all bedding to Croydon to be
disinfected, but I hope in the near future we shall have
a "disinfector" of our own, which will enable us to be
more expeditious in the disinfection and returning of the
bedding.
In the case of Typhoid Fever we now make it a
practice to thoroughly flush and disinfect the drains.
Where these cases are nursed at home it is done every
day. This is carried out by our own men to ensure it
being well done.
