(a) ButterAdulterated, Unsalted butter. Taste slightly rancid. Surface contained black spots due to mould.It was ultimately decided that the Purchaser had kept the butter too long in his refrigerator.
(b) Bread, ProceaAdulterated Contained a foreign body, being part of a tobacco cigarette.Reported to Public Health Committee. Strict warning letter sent.
(c) Glucose, Lemon and Barley PowderInferior. Sugar 84.6 citric acid 1.53, glucose 10.7% Barley flour. Ingredients declared in wrong order.Manufacturers agreed to have new labels stating the ingredients in the correct order.
(d) Milk.Inferior. Definite taint which might be of bacterial origin.This taint thought to be due to staleness and complainant was asked to notify the dept. again if a similar taint was detected. No further complaint was received.
