Mass Radiography.
The unit attended for public sessions at the Village Hall, High
Street, Orpington, from the 14th to the 28th July, 1953, when 4,318
persons attended. Of this total, eighteen were significant new cases
of Tuberculosis, which is equivalent to a rate of 4 per 1,000. This is a
reduced rate, compared with the previous survey in December, 1951,
when 1,954 persons attended and fourteen persons were discovered
to have Tuberculosis, a rate of 7 per 1,000.
This is a pleasing result and compares with similar reductions in
the rate in other local authorities.
