Causation of Deafness.

The following is the Clinical Diagnosis of the probable cause of Deafness in the 166 children referred for treatment:—

Of the 166 Children seen at the Clinics:—
104 Children were referred for Re-testing.
50 Children were referred to the E.N.T. Specialist.
12 Children were referred to other Hospitals.
No. Re-tested 86.
No. found to have normal hearing after
re-testing 67
No. who failed the re-test 19
No. who failed to attend for re-testing 18
Total 104
Of the 50 children referred to the Ear, Nose and Throat
Specialist, 22 were seen by him.
9 Children were given Pure Tone Tests.
3 Children were recommended for Hearing Aids.
6 Children were recommended for Lip Reading.
Owing to great pressure of work, the Ear, Nose and Throat
Specialist will be unable to see the remaining children on his list
until a future date.
