SECTION B.—MATERNITY AND CHILD
WELFARE SERVICES.
B(1). Maternity and Child Welfare Scheme.
The details of the Maternity and Child Welfare Scheme
are fully described on page 14 of my report for 1940, with
again important alterations under sections (a) and (f).
I have pleasure in recording that the Infant Welfare
Centre at Picardy held fortnightly during 1941 has been fully
justified, and since April of this year has been doubled. It is
now a weekly clinic session every Wednesday and appears to
be developing satisfactorily.
Owing to increased attendances a new weekly clinic
session was opened in August at the Bedonwell Welfare Centre
and for the same reason an additional weekly clinic commenced
at the "Hainault" Welfare Centre in the same month.
Following the increase in the numbers attending the Child
Welfare Clinics in the Borough, more use has been made of
the Specialists services available.
the Specialists services available. One of the Specialists
services concerned is the Orthopaedic clinic, and this, since
August of this year, has been doubled and is now functioning
on two days each month.
