A (3). Infantile Mortality.
23 infants died before reaching one year of age, giving an
infantile mortality of 37.95. The comparable figure for tihe
whole country is 59.
Analysis of the causes of death of this age group reveals the following figures:—

A (4). Unemployment Figures and Comments.
With the courteous co-operation of the Manager of the
Erith Employment Exchange, it once again is possible to give
definite figures on the state of unemployment in the District,
as shown in the following table. A perusal of this table shows
a marked decrease in unemployment figures largely owing to
continued demands for labour due to the war.
