No system of meat marking under Part III of the Public
Health (Meat) Regulations, 1924, is operative in the District.
No legal action was taken by the Authority with regard
to unsound meat and other foods during the year.
F(4). Other Foods.

In addition to the meat insj>ected in the slaughterhouses, the Sanitary Inspectors dealt with the following foodstuffs which upon examination was found to be unfit for human consumption, duly surrendered and destroyed: —

Beef153 lbs.
Liver10 lbs.
Chickens4
Fish13 stones
Potatoes3 tons
Onions3 cwt.
Apples17½ cwt.
Vinegar1 bottle
Chocolates1 lb.

F(5). Food and Drugs Act.
The Sale of Food & Drugs Act 1928 is administered by the
Kent County Council within the Borough, and routine sampling
is undertaken by that Authority. The County Sampling Officer
is also employed in the capacity of Inspector of Weights and
Measures.
It has not been found necessary for the Borough Sanitary
Inspectors to submit any article of food to the County Laboratory
for the purpose of examination. Two complaints regarding
suspected food supplies were received during the year, each of
which were investigated in detail, but not confirmed by the
Sanitary Inspector.
F (6). Shellfish.
There are no shell-fish beds or layings within the administrative
district of the Borough of Frith.
F(7). Offensive Trades.
In addition to the statutory Offensive Trades enumerated
under Section 107 Public Health Act, 1936, Fish Frying was,
in 1912, declared by Order to be an Offensive Trade within the
District, and Bye-laws were made accordingly.
