"The treatment carried out is for the correction of Errors
of Refraction, treatment of diseases involving the eyes or eyelids,
such as Blepharitis, Conjunctivitis, Corneal Ulceration, etc.;
advice to parents regarding the care of children having defective
sight, especially in relation to Myopia—and advice and arrangements
for such operative measures which cannot suitably be
carried out at the Treatment Centre."
Orthopaedic and Postural Defects.
Our orthopaedic scheme commenced to function with the
first diagnosis clinic held by the Orthopaedic Surgeon, Mr. W.
Eldon Tucker, on 23rd September, 1937.
It was decided to bring all orthopaedic cases among the
school population under review, so that continuity of supervision
by Mr. Eldon Tucker could be achieved at the outset.
Two sessions for remedial exercise classes are held each
week by the Orthopaedic Nurse at the Bedonwell Clinic. The
waiting hall as described in the Annual Report is fitted up with
the necessary apparatus. Average attendance at these sessions
has been 13.
While it is not the primary concern of the School Report,
it is worth recording that an arrangement was made as recommended
in Circulars 1550 and 1621, whereby the facilities of
the new orthopaedic scheme were made available to the preschool
child. The value of this to everybody concerned including
the Education Committee is obvious.

The following is a list of cases which have attended the clinic:—
