Annual Report of the Senior School
Dental Surgeon
Mr. C. E. JAMES, L.D.S., R.C.S.
for the year ending 31st December, 1933.
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen,
I beg to submit my annual report for the year ending 31st
December, 1933.
Fillings inserted during the year under review amounted to
5349, the number in permanent teeth being 4858, and 491 in temporary
teeth.
Extractions totalled 4112, 586 being permanent and 3526
temporary teeth.
It will bo. noted that the number of fillings remains high and
exceeds the number of extractions by 1237. These figures are in
striking contrast with the corresponding figures prior to the
appointment of an additional dentist, when the number of extractions
was always more than double the number of fillings.
The following table shows comparative figures since 1926 during which period the number of fillings per hundred extractions has risen from 36.7 to 130.
Year | Fillings temp, and perm. | Extractions temp, and perm. | No. of fillings per 100 extractions of Temporary and Permanent Teeth |
