A Formalin Chamber is usod Tor tho disinfection of books, leather goods,
etc. - articles, that would bo damaged by steam. Tho number of books and other
articles thus disinfected was 602.
- Nine Council houses and 182 other houses wore found to be infested, and
the-total number of rooms disinfected was 389. The whole of the work is carriec
out by the Department, the materials used being Block Disinfostators combined
with the use of Insecticides such as Pyagra, etc.
PETROLEUM (REGULATIONS) ACTS, 1928 and 1936
During the year 9 now licences and 97 renewals wore granted by the Council.
The following is a list of particulars of quantities, etc., affected by those
licences:-
Petroleum spirit 476,726 gallons
Petroleum mixtures 6,020 gallons
Carbide of Calcium 1 ton 3 cwt. 78 lb.
MORTUARY
During the year 60 bodies wore deposited in tho Mortuary, 58 by ordor of
the Coroner, and 2 for sanitary reasons.
CANAL BOATS ACTS.
During the year 32 visits wore paid to the canal and 17 boats were seen,
but of this number none wore fitted or used as dwellings or registered under
the Acts.
PLACES OF PUBLIC ENTERTAImENT
Twentyfour inspections of cinemas and other places of entertainment were
lade in accordance with tho Circular of the Ministry of Health of 1920.
Conditions were found to be generally satisfactory.
