WAR-TIME NURSERIES.
By the end of the year there were ten War-time Nurseries,
eight being whole-time, open from 6.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., on each
day except Sunday, and two being part-time Nurseries, open from
9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. from Monday to Friday. This was an increase
of two Nurseries over the number open at the beginning of the year,
the new Nurseries being St. Mark's (44 places) and Oldfields (50
places). In addition, the accommodation at the Cuckoo Nursery
was extended during the year from 56 places to 70 places. No new
Nurseries were contemplated during the year but extensions of the
Culmington and Perivale Nurseries were begun.
