Judging from the small number of cases of infective disease
of the eye occurring during the year the health and nutrition of the
children would appear to be well maintained.
Defects of Ear, Nose and Throat.—Children suffering
from defects of the Ear, Nose and Throat were, as in previous years,
referred to the surgeon, Mr. Arthur Miller, for advice and treatment.
The Surgeon attends at the Mattock Lane and Ravenor Park Health
Centres alternately once a fortnight.
School children are referred from the Inspection Clinics and from
routine school medical inspection, whilst the children under five
years of age are referred from the Child Welfare Centres.
