CROYDON AIRPORT - HEALTH CONTROL
With the partial withdrawal of Immigration Officers, the work
formerly performed by the Medical Receptionists was placed upon
the Customs Officers. The system of continuous "on call" manning
by Medical Officers has continued.

Included in the above figures were 1,881 Aliens carried in
579 Aircraft.
CREMATION ACTS, 1902 AND 1952
During the year 2,362 certificates were completed by the Medical
Officer of Health in the capacity of Medical Referee under
the above Acts.
INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATES FOR VACCINATION
During the year 997 certificates were dealt with at the
office (880 Smallpox, 72 Cholera, 43 T. A. B. and 2 Typhus).
STAFF MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS
1,080 examinations were made during the year by the Medical
Staff of the Department.
NATIONAL ASSISTANCE ACT, 1948, SECTION 47
NATIONAL ASSISTANCE AMENDMENT ACT, 1951
One old lady, aged 78, with severe arthritis, which confined
her to her chair was admitted to hospital using the powers of the
1951 Act.
34 other cases were investigated and dealt with as follows:-
15 - Satisfactory arrangements made for home care.
14 - Agreed to enter and were admitted to hospital.
1 - Agreed to enter and was admitted to an Old People's
Hostel.
2 - Admitted to hospital under Lunacy and Mental Treatment
Act procedure.
1 - Case died at home.
1 - Case moved out of the Borough.
