Blood Transfusion (64 Obstetrical and 44 Gynaecological cases).
For every case, stored blood from the Blood Transfusion
Depot, Sutton, was used.

There were 2 deaths from Serum Hepatitis, but no death due to blood transfusion.

Infant Feeding and Weight on Discharge from Hospital.
In both hospitals normal infants were breast-fed every four
hours omitting the early morning feed.
Of 1,283 infants discharged from Mayday Hospital, 856 were
up to or over birth weight (67 per cent.).
Of 690 infants discharged from St. Mary's Maternity
Hospital, 486 were up to or over birth weight (70 per cent.).
Twins and Triplets.

There were 43 cases of Twins and none of Triplets. There was no maternal death.
