At the beginning of 1942 there were 66 patients in Cheam
Sanatorium. During the year 168 were admitted and 141
discharged, whilst 9 died, thus leaving 84 patients in at the end
of 1942.
There were 4 observation cases sent in: 3 males and 1 female.
Of the 3 males, 2 were not tuberculous, and the 1 female was not
tubercular. Therefore, there were 3 observation cases in nontuberculous
cases, which are shown above. The case that was
tuberculous is in with the tuberculous cases and is not shown as
observation.
Artificial pneumothorax cases discharged but still under
treatment: 6 males, 6 females (see above), making total discharges:
males 84, females 66.
These artificial Pneumothorax cases only refer to cases discharged
in 1942, those discharged in 1941 and still having refills
have not been included.
