1737Milk1% deficient in milk solids other than milk fat. This was taken from a large dairy company who informed me that they had discovered themselves a drop in the non-fatty solids when the milk got out on the found. As much of it was withdrawn as was possible but some of it was inadvertently issued. It was due to a crack developing in one of the plates of the pasteurisingmachine "breathing" in hot water during the fall of the pressure on the milk side which occurs at the break between holders. This would appear to be the cause and further samples were taken which proved to bo genuine.
1738Milk15% deficient in milk fatThis milk came from a farm and I investigated the matter. Samples were taken of all the cows concerned with the result that certain cows were found giving milk which was deficient in milk fat. They were removed from the herd. Further samples taken were genuine.
