527Picnic.RollBoric Acid 0,03%Vendors informed me that they admitted a small percentage of boric acid which was accounted for by the fact that they were using as one of the ingredients of the rolls American pork backs bellies and shoulders containing borax, imported by Ministry of Food under "lease and lend" agreement, and that they are authorised to use the material for manufacturing purposes by the Manufactured Meats Section of the Ministry of Food.
Although every endeavour is made to keep the borax down to a minimum by washing it is impossible to remove it entirely. No boric acid or borax is added during manufacture.
