PULMONARY TUBERCULSIS.
In 1940 there were more deaths from Pulmonary Tuberculosis than in
1939, the greatest number occurring in the age group 25-35 years,
whereas in 1939 the greatest number occurred in the 35-45 years age
group. Apart from the 20-25 and 45-55 age group, there were more
deaths in all other age groups than in 1939.
In females the highest peak was reached in the 25-35 age group. In
males the highest peak was also in the 25-35age group.
The number of new cases of Pulmonary Tuberculosis in 1940 in the age
groups, 15 to 35 years, was smaller than in 1939s and, as in 1939, the
greatest number occurred in the 25-35 group.

The diagnosis o f the new cases entered in the notification Register during 1940 were as follows

DEATHS FROM NON-PULMONARY TUBERCULSIS.
During 1940s 21 deaths were certified to be due to nonPulmonary
Tuberculosis, compared with 12 in 19395 18 in 1938:
15 in 1937; 16 in 1936.
