SHOPS ACT
515 visits were made, during the year.
One shopkeeper was prosecuted arid convicted for two
contraventions of the Shops (Hours of Closing) Act, 193&.
A fine of £1 on each summons was imposed.
SMOKE ABATEMENT
Mechanical stokers were installed to one boiler with
satisfactory results. Work on the second boiler was
postponed on account of the existing conditions.
