The figure of 226 lettings includes 95 transfers which have been
effected from various types of Council controlled property. During
the year 14 families have been admitted to the Halfway Houses.

With reference to Item 3, it will be noted that a number of
properties have been released from requisition during the year.
MOVEABLE DWELLINGS.
The presence of moveable dwellings in the area is governed by
the Public Health Act, 1936, and by Town Planning requirements.
Licences are required under the Public Health Act, and each application
is considered on its own merits having regard to health
considerations only. No new permissions are granted on Town
Planning grounds unless satisfactory reasons are given in each
individual case. The Department maintains a close liaison with the
Engineer and Surveyor who is consulted in all appropriate cases.
Careful watch is kept and the legal position is explained to
unauthorised persons stationing vehicles either on new sites or
adding to dwellings on sites already used for the purpose.
