Unsound food is, whenever possible, sent for treatment to a
large local piggery and used for animal food.
There was no consignment of food especially examined during
the year.
MEAT INSPECTION.
There were no slaughterhouses operating in the district, and
there were no applications received during the year for licences to
slaughter animals under the Slaughter of Animals Act, 1933.
PIGGERIES.
There are 28 piggeries in the district, to which 87 visits were
made. Eighteen defects were found and remedied.
